Asparagus is one of the plants grown in spring. Once it gets established, the tender spears will be there every year. It grows in various parts of the country but most robustly in the cooler regions have longer winters while the soil’s temperature rises beyond 50 degrees Fahrenheit. The edible portion of the plant is the stem shoot that emerges. Therefore, you should plant asparagus crowns in the fall. The plant should not harvest in the first few seasons as it needs to mature before harvesting.

Store asparagus correctly
Asparagus does not very long after picking them up. Make sure to eat it in two to three days after harvesting. Remove the dirt and give a light wash with cold water to the spears before storing. Dry-washing the spears is necessary as the spears as moisture can mold them. Wrap the spear ends with a moist paper towel and place it in a plastic bag to store the bundle together. If a person has enough space in their fridge, they must keep the asparagus spears by placing them in a water cup. Keep the cup with about an inch of clean water.
